David asked:

Is it something you go to the doctor for or should I just clean it and let it take its course? Luckily its the weekend but I’ve had it all week and have to sit through hours of classes, so it’s only gotten bigger and bigger and more painful. Just now I wiped my *** and there was blood all up on the paper. I really don’t want to have to go to the immediate care clinic and have to explain to people I have something wrong with my butthole, and then have someone physically examine it (it’s pretty hairy down there, too).

Yes, go to the doctor. Something is not right if you’re bleeding down there and you aren’t a woman on your period.

See a doctor as soon as possible. The problem will only get worse, if you don’t.

Dont assume its hemmorhoids until the doc takes a look. if it is, they will tell you how to care for it and you may not have to go back. If its something worse better to know ASAP and get treatment started.

Any ideas how it may have started??? never mind, I don’t want to know.

I will assume you have been diagnosed as having hemorrhoids.
You must know that hemorrhoids are dilated blood vessels located in the **** or rectal area. Since they contain blood they will bleed if you strain during a bowel movement. You should use a stool softener and try to avoid straining. This should help.
