Hemorrhoids for 10 months?! – Gross?

janecat questioned:

Could someone please tell me what they did to get rid of their hemorrhoids. Sometimes I go for a couple weeks without doing anything. Then, spaced out, I’ll use Tucks, Prep H, Suppositories, Fiber supplements, Miralax. I don’t stay on a strict schedule. It never seems to get better, and there is nothing more excruciating than when I have to go to the bathroom (and I get migraines). Even passing gas hurts. I’ve even been eating tons of fruits and veggies lately and still no relief. I’m frightened to go to the doctor- there has to be something else.
I’ve been to a general practitioner twice. She gave me MiraLax and suppositories. When I went back, she said to just take more. Should I go to a gastroenterologist? (excuse spelling)

You need to see a doctor. They may need to be surgically removed.

Take Surfak – over the counter – 240 mg. every day -it’s a stool softener and then you wont’ have to worry about constipation and hopefully, the hemorroids will heal. I do NOT recommend surgeryut the other things you are trying are all excellent. Witch Hazel can be comforting

do to a doctor! even if it is minor!

You need to see a doctor because they can prescribe much stronger versions of what you’ve used in the past which will most likely solve the problem within a few days.

The over the counter stuff is like most cold medicines in that they are just soothers rather than cures.

No there isn’t something else, you need to go to the doctor. He or she can give you medicine to fix this. You should have gone 10 months ago. This is something that can be cured with normal medicine that you can go a buy. It’s something that is prescribed. Don’t be worried, the doctor will be really nice and gentle, and has seen this type of stuff a lot.

YEah I might. At the very least get a second opinion from some one else.

Your ‘roids sound unusually painful. See a Dr. There is a new treatment for them that a proctologist can do in just a few minutes and you can walk out of the office and get on with life. It is the same treatment that is now used on small varicose veins. A hemorrhoid is an inflamed varicose vein in the rectum. The doctor injects or uses a radiowave to make the vein close. No more hemorrhoid. You will wish you had done it sooner. By the way, hemorrhoids can get even worse. Go see the Dr. the new treatments are fantastic!
