I have rectal bleeding, could it be more serious than just hemorrhoids?

I had my 2nd child 10 mos ago. I know I have hemorroids from having 2 kids and I can feel one of them when I wipe. However, I wonder if I need to have it checked out. When I wipe after a bowel movement, there is blood in commode and on paper. I recently read a medscape journal article where hemorrhoids was misdiagnosed as colorectal cancer in a 28 yo. That freaked me out, I am 35. I am also a RN so I read alot of medical articles. Thanks for your opinion. Might go see a gastroenterologist just in case.

Yes, it could be something more serious going on but the gastroenterologist will try to help you figure out what could be going on.

yeah better go see a Gastro.. maybe get a scope done. if ur arent satisfied with the diagnose, could get 2nd opinion. Anyway you r a RN n u knw medical stuff. Is that a registered nurse right? me too.
Hemorrhoids can get very serious where they can cause a lot of blood especially if they’re in a stage 2-4. Here is a breakdown of stages
You might want to go to the doctor and get tested especially if colon or rectal cancer runs in your family.
If it turns out to be hemorrhoids which can be just as agonizing I would look into natural remedies as the creams like Prep H only mask the problem. Here is website I came across awhile ago offering natural and effective methods to actually cure the problem for good
